Where to Stay on a Longer Doha Layover

Best overall:

Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels: Sitting directly inside the souk, this is the most atmospheric place to base yourself in Doha. Waking up in the heart of the market, walking to MIA Park in 10 minutes, and having the Corniche 20 minutes on foot — it is hard to beat for location. The hotels have pools, gyms, and comfortable rooms. Around 15 minutes from the airport.

Best for relaxation:

The Chedi Katara Hotel and Resort: If you want beach access, a spa, and a quieter experience, the Chedi sits right on the coast at Katara Cultural Village. Five restaurants on site, large pool, and genuinely beautiful grounds. More expensive, but it earns it.

Best budget pick:

Kingsgate Hotel Doha by Millennium Hotels: A solid, affordable option close to the Souq. Pool, gym, kitchenette in rooms. Not glamorous, but comfortable and well-located for a budget-conscious layover.

Inside the airport:

Oryx Airport Hotel. For pure convenience, the Oryx inside the terminal cannot be beaten. Available only to passengers already beyond passport control, it is the right choice for overnight transits where you do not want to exit the airport at all.
