Key Points to Remember 

• All expatriate workers can review their job contract before leaving their home country, since the Ministry of Labour-approved contract is now required to obtain a work visa. 
• Expatriates who leave Qatar after their employment and residency permit end may return immediately once they secure a new visa. However, workers found guilty of misconduct during previous employment face a four-year ban on re-entry. 
• Employers who confiscate employee passports can be fined up to QR 25,000 per worker, making this the region's strictest penalty against passport confiscation.
