Where to See Wildlife in Qatar: A Practical Guide

Best Time to Visit
November through March is the best season for wildlife in Qatar. Temperatures are comfortable. Birdlife peaks. Desert mammals are more active during daylight hours. Mangrove and coastal wildlife viewing is excellent.
October brings the start of migration. Shorebirds and raptors arrive along the coast. Evening conditions are pleasant for desert wildlife spotting.
April offers late migration with spring raptor movement through the peninsula. Heat begins to build toward month's end.
May through September brings extreme terrestrial heat. Desert wildlife activity shifts entirely to the hours before sunrise and after dark. Marine experiences remain possible but require early starts. This is actually peak season for whale sharks at Al Shaheen.
