DFI launched on Tuesday special screenings for local films as part of the "Made in Qatar" program

The Doha Film Institute (DFI) launched on Tuesday special screenings for local films produced by Qatari talent as part of the "Made in Qatar" program at a cinema in Doha.

Offered by DFI, the screenings of Made in Qatar films are the most critical initiatives that garner global appreciation and mostly highlight the cinema industry in Qatar and are dedicated to upgrading the local talents, offering a crucial platform for citizens and residents to unlock their unique innovations and ideas through films.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), chief administrative officer of DFI Abdallah Al Musallam said DFI today pays tribute to 14 films of 15 directors within the program 'Made in Qatar 2023', affirming that those works could not be screened last year due to the situation facing the region. He expressed his pride in those young talents who present their best works.

Several Qatari directors and those residing in Qatar commended to QNA the milestones achieved by DFI in its determination to open broader horizons for them to upgrade their performance in this field.

Director Noura Al Nasser highlighted to QNA that DFI is the real incubator of young filmmakers, whether in terms of training or advancing their works.

For his part, the director Ibrahim Al Buainain told QNA that DFI not only supported them but has been flexibly dealing with them and embracing the emerging talents, he added.
