Recipients of water from QRCS's Drinking Water Trucking initiative in Somalia
In Doha, Qatar, the Qatar Red Crescent Society's representation office in Somalia has initiated the Drinking Water Trucking project in collaboration with the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA). With a total cost of QR305,521, funded by QRCS's Disaster Response Fund, the project aims to deliver clean drinking water to eight camps housing internally displaced people (IDPs) in Jubaland. The initiative includes deploying 540 potable water tankers, each with a capacity of 10,000 liters. To ensure continuous water supply, 18 tankers will be deployed daily for 30 days, serving 1,000 families or 7,000 people at the targeted camps.
