Qatar has extended its humanitarian support to Gaza with successive aid aircraft deployments. The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has intensified relief efforts, coordinating from its Doha headquarters and Gaza representation office. QRCS has teams in Egypt managing aid shipments, coordinating with the Egyptian Red Crescent and Palestine Red Crescent Society.

On December 10, 2023, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced three more relief aircraft to Al-Arish, carrying 116 tonnes of aid, including food and medical items from Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), QRCS, and Qatar Charity (QC). This brings the total Qatari aid aircraft to 42, contributing 1,362 tonnes of diverse aid.

The aid includes food, nonfood items, medicines, medical supplies, and a field hospital jointly donated by QFFD, QRCS, and QC. Qatar's Ministry of Public Health donated 12 ambulance vehicles. QRCS played a significant role, deploying 36 aircraft and a specialist relief team.

During a visit to Al-Arish, HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al-Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation at MOFA, witnessed the aid preparation process. QRCS allocated $3.5 million for emergency relief, benefitting over 255,000 beneficiaries in Gaza, with projects spanning food, health, shelter, and water sanitation. QRCS is also introducing a QFFD-funded field hospital in Gaza to be operated by PRCS.

Despite global contributions, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza persists. QRCS invites donations for #ForPalestine projects through its website (www.qrcs.qa/pal) to support the Palestinian people.
