With the break starting as early as Tuesday, May 26 for government and banking employees, here is a practical checklist for residents and businesses in Qatar:

For employees:

• Confirm your sector's exact holiday window with your HR department
• If asked to work during the holiday, clarify overtime compensation before agreeing
• Ensure any pending salary payments, reimbursements, or approvals are processed before May 26

For businesses and employers:

• Communicate the official holiday schedule to all staff in writing before May 26
• Ensure payroll reflects full-pay entitlement for the three holiday days in the private sector
• If operations must continue during the holiday, prepare overtime calculations in line with Article 74 of the Labour Law
