Dhul-hijjah Campaign
Qatar Charity has launched its Dhul-Hijjah campaign for the 1447 AH–2026 season under the slogan "The Most Blessed Days", aiming to expand humanitarian and development assistance for vulnerable communities in Qatar and around the world.
The organization said the campaign, supported by donors in Qatar, will fund a range of relief and development projects, including the distribution of sacrificial meat in 43 countries, Eid clothing and Eid gifts during the first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Qatar Charity said the initiative seeks to strengthen solidarity, bring joy to disadvantaged families during Eid Al Adha and respond to growing humanitarian needs affecting millions of people globally.
As part of the campaign, the charity plans to distribute meat from 42,650 sacrificial animals at an estimated total cost of about QR28 million, targeting around 838,000 beneficiaries inside Qatar and abroad.
Outside Qatar, Qatar Charity said it aims to distribute meat from 40,900 sacrificial animals across 42 countries, with a budget exceeding QR26.5 million and an expected 818,000 beneficiaries.
The program will cover countries including Niger, Indonesia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Philippines, Pakistan, Tanzania, The Gambia, South Africa, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Palestine, Kosovo, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Morocco, Benin, Burundi, Togo, Mali, Syria, Albania, Jordan, India, Yemen, Burkina Faso, Turkey, Chad, Tunisia, Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Egypt, Mauritania, Somalia, Bangladesh, Senegal and Sudan.
The charity said priority would be given to countries and regions affected by prolonged crises and disasters, particularly Palestine, including the Gaza Strip, as well as Somalia, Syria, Kenya and Sudan, with the aim of strengthening food security and improving access to aid for vulnerable populations.
The campaign also includes an Eid Clothing Project targeting orphans in around 21 countries, among them Turkiye, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sudan, Somalia, Niger, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Tunisia, Djibouti, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Palestine, Kosovo, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire.
Qatar Charity said the project would support around 8,200 orphaned children sponsored by donors through the organization, at a total cost of approximately QR2.5 million.
Within Qatar, the organization's "Alaqraboon" Center will oversee the local Udhiyah project, distributing meat from 1,750 sacrificial animals at a cost of about QR1.5 million and benefiting nearly 20,000 people.
Beneficiaries will include low-income families, orphan households, families of prisoners and other vulnerable groups.
The center will also implement the "Eidi" project for 1,500 children from orphan and low-income families, in addition to organizing the "Eid Joy Festival" for hundreds of orphans and their families.
Qatar Charity added that the campaign would include support for 2,500 urgent humanitarian cases inside the country.
Alongside Eid-related projects, the campaign will support food security and water initiatives outside Qatar, including food baskets, hot meals, support for community kitchens and bakeries, as well as interventions addressing malnutrition in hunger-affected regions.
The organization also said it would fund clean water projects, including well drilling, to support communities suffering from drought and water shortages.
A major feature of the campaign is the "10×10 Initiative", which includes 10 projects during the first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah focused on food security and economic empowerment, such as feeding programs, income-generating projects and support for vulnerable families.
Commenting on the campaign, Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, Executive Director of Communications and Community Impact at Qatar Charity, said humanitarian needs were increasing in several regions worldwide.
He said the campaign reflected Qatar Charity's commitment to directing aid to those most in need in line with the highest professional standards, while encouraging donors to make the most of the charitable opportunities presented during the first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah.
