LinkedIn-Microsoft partnership to create more Jobs

Doha, March 16 - The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau announced today a partnership contract with LinkedIn and Microsoft to enhance the presence of the national employment platform Kawader on LinkedIn network, and open new job horizons for the platform's subscribers to search for different job opportunities in the State of Qatar.

The agreement aims to facilitate practical and direct job seekers by using the various features provided by LinkedIn, which is the largest professional network in the world, to its affiliates, such as displaying skills, experience, academic and other qualifications, and matching them with the best available career opportunities.

Through this partnership, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau seeks to present the reality of talents and skills in the State of Qatar and align them with the requirements of the labor market and job opportunities. The LinkedIn market data will provide many indicators that allow decision makers the opportunity to set priorities and work to bridge the skills gaps in the Qatari labor market, with the aim of achieving the state's vision, and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau will work to enhance the presence of Kawader platform on LinkedIn.

The supervisor of government manpower planning and Kawader platform at the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau Saif Ali Al Kaabi, said that this strategic partnership with LinkedIn and Microsoft comes within the framework of facilitating job searches through the network and access to opportunities available in the labor market in the State of Qatar.

He added that it will also be linked with Kawader in order to improve the level of services provided by the Civil Service Bureau.

For her part, the General Manager of Microsoft Qatar Lana Khalaf, explained that with the rapid adoption of cloud technology in Qatar as part of the digital transformation process, job tasks are changing to suit business requirements in the new digital world. According to a study conducted by IDC, the adoption of cloud computing is expected to create 24,000 new jobs by 2024.

The Head of the Government and Academic Sector at LinkedIn - MENA Rajai El Khadem, said that this partnership includes the optimal use of our data and tools to understand the Qatari labor market in terms of skills, talents, job opportunities and the movement of supply and demand, with the aim of providing updated data to decision makers to help them in drawing up policies and development of programs and initiatives that will contribute to the development of national cadres and provide them with the necessary and required skills for the labor market today and in the future.

This step comes within the framework of completing the procedures and continuous updates carried out by the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau in coordination with various authorities, with the aim of facilitating the procedures for hiring job seekers registered through the national platform for employment Kawader which consists in continuing to make improvements to the services and systems available to the groups benefiting from the platform and achieving national plans, strategies and visions in the field of digital transformation and human development.
