The pavilion of the Ministry of Interior at Milipol Qatar 2022 is one of largest pavilions participating in this year's edition with a wide distinguished participation of the various departments affiliated with the Ministry.

The Ministry's pavilion showcases the most modern technologies and equipment, whether those launched by the Ministry during the last period or it intends to launch during the next phase, with the aim of enhancing its security, police and service efforts to reach the highest levels of security and safety and speed up the completion of transactions.

The General Directorate of Traffic is showcasing the smart test car, which will be used in drivers' tests in driving schools. Captain Salem Hamad Al Jahweel, the licensing officer, said that the car has the feature of monitoring drivers' errors without any human intervention, as it is equipped with high-resolution sensors and cameras. The car has a map system that includes data on all roads in the country, including the speeds specified on all the roads.

The smart test car can also archive the tests for future use, and it is linked to a smart application that enables the driver to know and view the test result directly, and know the errors in case of failure. It also transmits a live image to the concerned authority in traffic, which enables direct communication with the driver inside the car.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Faisal Abdulaziz Al Haydous, officer of the Vehicles Number Plate Workshop, explained that the pavilion includes samples of the plates that were recently put on the electronic auction to sell the distinguished numbers, which is organized by the General Directorate of Traffic. The new plates will have the logo of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Lt. Al Haydous said that all new (not previously licensed) vehicles will have plates with the championship's logo starting next month, in addition to the distinguished plates announced in the auction.

For its part, the General Directorate of Civil Defense unveiled a modern firefighting and rescue vehicle, the first of its kind in Qatar. The vehicle is designed for rugged areas, especially sandy ones. The Directorate is also showcasing a modern fire-monitoring drone.

Captain Abdulhadi Ali Al Marri explained that the new vehicle is a four-wheel drive vehicle equipped with a pump and assistant tank with a capacity of 200 liters, and a foam tank with a capacity of 20 liters. It is intended for rugged wilderness areas, and contains integrated rescue equipment to remove the injured from the vehicles that have suffered serious accidents. . The vehicle also includes all the modern and mechanical technologies that help it perform its tasks.

With regard to the drone, he stated that it is a modern aircraft equipped with thermal cameras and high-precision sensors, which is dedicated to monitoring fires from above, determining the location of the fire with high accuracy, and transmitting a direct image for fire and rescue vehicles to alert areas threatened by fire and the people at risk. In addition to video, it can monitor sounds via a high-resolution microphone.

He added that the pavilion also includes a device to detect the leakage of hazardous materials in industrial areas, which can measure at a distance of more than 300 meters.

The pavilion also introduce visitors to the tasks and services of the Prevention Department, and the Preventive Education Department, in addition to a section dedicated to the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College which reviews the most prominent student programs and registration requirements for admission. 

For its part, the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security showcases Gyrocopters, which is a newly joined aircraft to the Directorate dedicated to search and exploration operations. It is characterized by its ability to fly at a low altitude, it does not need a runway for landing and can land on water, and it is equipped with high-resolution cameras.

Moreover, First Lieutenant Hamid Al Humaidi added that the section of the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security also includes long-range boats whose mission is to protect the Qatari borders and territorial waters to combat smuggling and crime and reduce illegal fishing.

He explained that this type of boat consists of three classes (48/34/24 meters), with a speed of 35 knots. It is characterized by easy maneuverability and includes the latest radars, communication systems and electronic maps.

The General Directorate of Industrial Security also participates in the MOI pavilion with a section introducing visitors to the tasks and duties of the Directorate which include protecting industrial cities and pipelines and inspection methods, as well as the procedures required to obtain permits to enter the industrial areas, according to Major Ali Hisham Al Mannai, Director of the Ras Laffan Security and Operations Department at the General Directorate of Industrial Security.

Visitors to the Ministrys pavilion are also introduced to Al-Adheed Service, which is a service of communication between the Ministry of Interior and members of society. The service allows the public to easily pass and transfer notes of all kinds (security, criminal, social, etc.) in addition to complaints, suggestions and information to the competent authorities.

On the other hand, the Department of Criminal Evidence and Information at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation reviews the latest technologies used by the Department in performing its tasks, the great technological development of the devices, and the nature of daily work.

The National Command Center also participates in the pavilion to familiarize visitors with the tasks and duties it performs in the process of enhancing security and safety in the country, in addition to showcasing the latest technologies it uses.
