At Least Four Injured in Explosions at Syrian Army Site Near Aleppo

Damascus, September 21, 2026 : At least four people were injured after a series of explosions occurred early Monday at a Syrian army site near Al-Eis in the southern countryside of Aleppo, according to an initial toll reported by Syrian state media.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that Aleppo’s Internal Security Command closed the Aleppo-Damascus highway and roads leading to the site as emergency crews worked to secure the area and evacuate nearby residents.

Faisal Mohammed Ali, head of civil defense operations in Aleppo, said rescue teams had evacuated four injured people from the site. He explained that continuing explosions initially prevented ambulances and rescue personnel from reaching the affected area.

Civil defense teams were also evacuating residents from homes close to the site and restricting access to the surrounding area as emergency operations continued.

Aleppo Governor Azzam Al Gharib called on residents to remain indoors and stay away from the blast site and nearby areas, saying authorities were closely monitoring the situation and responding to emergencies.
