Qatar Winter
Qatar will experience the winter solstice for 2025 on Saturday, December 21, officially marking the end of autumn and the beginning of winter from an astronomical perspective in the Northern Hemisphere.
According to the Qatar Meteorology Department, the winter solstice is a natural annual phenomenon that occurs due to the 23.5-degree tilt of the Earth’s rotational axis as it orbits the Sun. On this day, the Sun appears directly overhead at the Tropic of Capricorn, resulting in the shortest daytime and longest nighttime of the year for countries in the Northern Hemisphere, including Qatar.
Following the winter solstice, daylight hours will gradually begin to increase, while temperatures typically reflect the seasonal transition toward winter conditions.
