Doha, October 26, 2026 : Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched its Warm Winter Campaign for 2026–2027 under the theme “Warmth and Serenity,” aiming to assist more than 57,000 vulnerable people across several countries during the winter season.
The three-month humanitarian initiative will deliver winter relief to communities in Palestine, including Gaza and the West Bank, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Lebanon and Jordan.
Aid packages will include winter clothing, mattresses, blankets, heaters, heating oil and tarpaulins to help families cope with cold weather and difficult living conditions.
The projects will be implemented through QRCS’s overseas offices and missions in coordination with host national Red Crescent and Red Cross societies, as well as relevant authorities.
QRCS Acting Secretary-General Abdullah Sultan Al Qattan called on donors to support families facing winter without adequate shelter, warm clothing or blankets. He highlighted the role of Zakat and Sadaqah in helping vulnerable and displaced people meet their essential needs.
Al Qattan also emphasised Qatar’s longstanding tradition of humanitarian solidarity, noting that the annual campaign has received strong support since its launch around two decades ago. He said QRCS remains committed to delivering assistance efficiently and helping families endure the winter with greater safety and comfort.
Meanwhile, QRCS Assistant Secretary-General for Relief and International Development Mohamed Bader Al Sada thanked the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) for its role in enabling the campaign.
He explained that the selection of beneficiary countries focused on areas where severe winter conditions overlap with displacement and humanitarian crises, including Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen. This approach is intended to maximise the impact of relief efforts and ensure assistance reaches those most in need.
Al Sada expressed confidence that individual and institutional donors would support the initiative by contributing supplies and resources to ease winter hardships for vulnerable families.
