Qatar's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has stated that the reports circulating on social media regarding the closure of Qatar airspace or the suspension of flights are incorrect.


The current aeronautical notice (NOTAM) released by the Qatar Department of Civil Aviation is aimed at designating alternate air routes and ensuring continuity of airs learned in providing air navigation services at the highest levels, in accordance with internationally recognised standards and disciplines.


It also stated that all of the procedures are in accordance with agreements, international standards and aviation practices as well major regular flights have not been interrupted.


Warning over spreading rumours


GACA also warned against the spreading of uncertain allegations, adding that these postings could be subject to litigation. It also called on the public to get updates on aviation only from official and trusted sources.
