In commemoration of World Humanitarian Day, Qatar has expressed its support for humanitarian workers and reaffirmed its commitment to empower them and create conditions that will help them carry out their work efficiently.

In a post on X.com platform, Qatar’s International Media Office highlighted the country’s determined efforts among the international community to support the most vulnerable people in times of crisis and conflict.

“This World Humanitarian Day, we look back at Qatar’s determined efforts among the international community to support the most vulnerable people in times of crisis and conflict,” Qatar’s International Media Office said.

In 2023, Qatar provided assistance to Turkiye-Syria earthquake victims.

Qatar has provided more than 600 tonnes of food, medical and humanitarian aid. It has donated more than $150 million in humanitarian aid. Qatar has created10,000 mobile homes for the earthquake victims and set up three field hospitals. More than 40 air bridge flights sent cargo, aid, and operations personnel to the affected areas.

The Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) has contributed $60 million in financial aid towards least developed countries.

Qatar has also pledged $100 for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. It provided 50 scholarships to Ukrainian students to study in Qatar.

Similarly, Qatar has provided more than 370 tonnes of food and medical aid to Sudan. Qatar has also evacuated more than 1850 people from Sudan.
