The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) to host a number of free events during March

Throughout the month of March, the National Museum of Qatar (NMOq) will offer free admission to its current exhibitions. 

There will be free admission to numerous on-going exhibitions, including Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech, and Kader Attia: On Silence. 

Visitors of all ages are invited to explore Qatari architecture through workshops, tours, and other culturally inspiring activities hosted at the Musuem. 

ABOUT THE EXHIBITIONS

Kader Attia: On Silence

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

This solo exhibition at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, allows audiences to explore discourses about heritage and aspiration, convention and transgression, colonialism and liberation. It runs from 17 March to 31 March 2022, Saturdays to Thursdays 9am to 7pm and Fridays 1.30pm to 7pm.

Family Saturday: Discovering Qatar’s Vernacular Architecture 

From Saturday 5 March 2022 at 4pm to 6pm, families will explore Qatar's vernacular architecture and use mixed media to create their own mosques. 

The History of Architecture in Qatar

Participants aged 16 and older will be shown the characteristics of Qatari architecture through models of forts, mosques, and houses. The tours will also highlight Qatar's efforts to modernise while preserving its architectural heritage. 

The event takes place on Mondays 7 and 14 March from 4pm to 5pm (Arabic) and on Thursdays 10 and 17 March from 4pm to 5pm (English).

3 Year’s On: An Anniversary Celebration

Saturday, 26 March marks an exciting day of special events, as the third anniversary of the National Museum of Qatar.

Kids can participate in art workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, Ramadan-themed demonstrations, and competitions from 10am to 6pm.

Architectural Model Making                           

In this short course, participants aged 15-18 discover how architectural sketches and models contribute to the creation of buildings that are memorable. Participants imagine, design and create models of futuristic buildings fitting the Doha skyline. Workshops will be held on Thursdays, from 5pm to 7pm, March 10, 17, and 24 (in Arabic and English).
