The State of Qatar expressed its great concern and disappointment with the caretaker government of Afghanistan's decision to suspend education in girls' high-schools until further notice.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed, in a statement today, that these practices will have negative implications on human rights, developments, and the economy of Afghanistan.

The statement added the State of Qatar, as a Muslim country where women enjoy all their rights, including education, calls on the caretaker government of Afghanistan to revisit its decision in line with the teachings of Islam in relation to women rights.

The ministry renewed the State of Qatar's position of supporting the Afghan people's rights, led by their right to education.

The statement renewed the State of Qatar's deep commitment to work with their Afghan and international partners, to ensure that all segments of the Afghan people from all age segments to enjoy their right to education.
