A specialized team of experts from Qatar, many of whom played pivotal roles in delivering landmark tournaments including the FIFA World Cup 2022, the FIFA Arab Cup in 2021 and 2025, and the FIFA Uâ17 World Cup 2025â˘, has been deployed to several host cities across the United States and Canada to support preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026â˘.
The initiative forms part of a knowledge and expertise transfer Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) and FIFA. The agreement was formalized in Doha by HE Hassan Al Thawadi, SC Managing Director, and Gianni Infantino, FIFA President.
Under the MoU, staff from the SC and key stakeholders are contributing across critical functional areas, including tournament operations, workforce readiness, fan engagement, and technological innovation. The deployment underscores Qatarâs commitment to sharing its proven expertise in megaâevent delivery, ensuring operational excellence and enhancing the fan experience at the worldâs largest football tournament.
Officials emphasized that the collaboration reflects Qatarâs legacy of hosting global sporting events and its role in strengthening international cooperation through knowledge transfer and innovation.
