Qatar SC beat Al Gharafa 1-0 in Week 20 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday.

Bashar Resan scored the all-important goal in the 22nd minute as Qatar SC moved on to 32 points, the same as Al Gharafa who are ahead in fourth place on goal difference.

Both teams fought hard initially, but Qatar SC succeeded in scoring through Resan. A long ball from defender Javi Martinez hit the defensive line and Bashar set up himself from the left and shot the ball into the far left corner of the net.

Al Gharafa responded with an attack in the 40th minute from which Ishak Belfodil scored a goal, but it was cancelled due to offside.

The beginning of the second half was fast-paced and Qatar SC tried to surprise Al Gharafa with a second goal, but in vain.

In the 56th minute, Omar Al Emadi was alone in Al Gharafas goal and almost scored the second goal, but goalkeeper Yousef Hassan thwarted him.

Al Gharafa pressed hard in search of an equalizer, but Qatar SC held on.

Meanwhile, Al Gharafas Yacine Brahimi created an opportunity, but they could not capitalize on it.

Qatar SC were coming off a 1-0 win over Al Rayyan in the postponed Week 18 match between them, while Al Gharafa had defeated title contenders Al Duhail 2-0 in their Week 19 match.
