QNA Holds Training Course on Media Sustainability

Qatar News Agency initiated a training program on media sustainability

On Sunday, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) initiated a training program on media sustainability in collaboration with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI).

The five-day course, attended by 22 journalists, including 20 from QNA and two from the Saudi News Agency (SPA), is part of a series organized by QNA to enhance the skills of national media professionals in various specialized areas.

This initiative aligns with the outcomes of the 22nd meeting of GCC news agency heads in August, focusing on strengthening relations between pan-GCC news agencies and the GCC General Secretariat's proposal for increased on-the-job training.

Conducted at QNA Training Halls, the course covers topics such as sustainable media development strategies, the intersection of media and sustainability in the news industry, international experiences in media sustainability, the relationship between journalism and sustainability, methods for identifying misinformation, and sustainable journalistic techniques.

Upon the conclusion of the course, trainees will be assigned to prepare graduation projects on media sustainability, for the purpose of measuring the extent of their benefit.

The training sessions will be led by media advisor Khaled Al Qudah from the Jordanian Ministry of Information and journalist Othman Al Mukhtar.

This collaboration between QNA and DI reflects QNA's commitment to reinforcing partnerships with local, regional, and international training institutions. It is part of QNA's broader plan to qualify and develop national talent, cultivating a new generation of skilled Qatari individuals capable of adapting to recent media transformations.
