The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) has unveiled the details for the upcoming MENA Karting Cup 2023, set to transpire from December 12 to 16 at the karting track of the Lusail International Circuit (LIC). The event will host aspiring young racers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, competing in six diverse categories.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public, with a detailed schedule to be shared at a later stage.

The MENA Karting Cup 2023 promises exhilarating wheel-to-wheel racing, featuring competitors ranging from as young as 8 to adults in divisions that include Micro Max (ages 8-11), Mini Max (ages 10-13), Junior Max (ages 12-15), Senior Max (ages 14+), DD2 (ages 15+), and DD2 Masters (ages 31+). Additionally, two more categories, RD1 Elite Sprint and RD1 Elite Endurance, are open for participants aged 15 and above. With drivers from across MENA nations expected to participate, intense competition is anticipated across all categories during the five days of racing.

Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai, President of QMMF and LIC, expressed excitement about hosting the event at Lusail International Circuit's karting track, emphasizing the organization's commitment to making Qatar a regional hub for motorsports. He extended a warm welcome to the region's top drivers and highlighted the championship's role in fostering motorsport talent and uniting enthusiasts in the MENA region.

Furthermore, FIA President Mohammed Ahmad Sultan Ben Sulayem expressed delight at QMMF hosting the fourth MENA Karting Championship, recognizing such initiatives as crucial for achieving the goal of doubling motorsport participation by 2025.
