Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) signed Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Empowering the World with the objective of implementing the innovative and impactful programs in the areas of accessibility for persons with disabilities, digital inclusion and comprehensive urban developments.

The signing of the agreement came on the sidelines of QFSW participation in the activities of World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH 2022 ),and within the framework of the joint cooperation between the two sides, enhancement of the comprehensive design for the smart cities, consultation on the social policy and integration in the community.

Executive Director of Al Shafallah Center on behalf of the CEO Lalae Abu Al-Fain added that the agreement is in commensurate with the strategy of QFSW to develop the policies and espouse the rights of people with disabilities and capitalize on the expertise of international entities among them is Empowering the World.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) Lalae Abu Al-Fain added that the agreement includes cooperation in the field of studies, researches, share of expertise and visits to help determine the strategies of the centers that support people with disabilities, pointing out that Al Shafallah Center is not connected to regional borders, in light of the accumulative expertise the center enjoys and spanned 23 years, which is a real qualification to be put on the world map, and in light of highlighting the State of Qatar during the current and next period with its hosting of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

For his part , President of Empowering the World Dr. Victor Santiago Pineda confirmed his support to QFSW efforts in pursuit of espousing issues associated with people with disabilities, achieving the accessibility for all, expressing his pleasure to sign this agreement which is keen to build inclusive societies where people with disabilities and the elderly can entirely develop their talents and realize their potential on the ground.
