They reviewed aspects of cooperation in issues related to the fields of labour, and ways to support and develop them.Ā 

It has been decided that Nepal and Qatar will renew the bilateral labour agreement.

The two ministersĀ made the decision during their meeting. Minister Shrestha is currently on a visit to the gulf state.

At the meeting, the two labour ministers discussed the social security of Nepali workers, the safety at work, health facilities, and the provision of 24-hour insurance.

Minister Shrestha informed his Qatari counterpart about the draft formulated by the Government of Nepal (GoN) in order to renew the bilateral labour agreement.

An agreement between Nepal and Qatar will be signed in Kathmandu amidst a ceremony after a joint-task force finalizes the draft.

There are more than 300,000 Nepali workers in Qatar. Dr. Al Marri also expressed his interest in recruiting Nepali workers for the FIFA World Cup 2022, taking place in Qatar.
