A statement on X by Dr. Majed Al Ansari, Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Advisor to the Qatari Prime Minister, said that Qatar denies that it had "offered" USD 12 billion to Iran in a deal. He described these accusations as unfounded and part of a campaign by those seeking to derail the agreement and undermine efforts aimed at stabilising the region.

He also highlights that Qatar’s role as a diplomatic partner, harmonised with state partners in the region, is well established and publicly acknowledged. These stories are attempts to tarnish Qatar's reputation as a key player in international peace mediation.
