The Ministry of Municipality (MoM) has initiated a project to develop "protected farms" and climate-smart agriculture in collaboration with South Korea under the Knowledge Sharing Programme (KSP).

The project aims to convert open farm areas into closed farms to reduce evaporation, water loss, and address soil issues. Implemented in partnership with Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Hyundai Research Institute, and Plant Farm company, the project will focus on assessing climate changes affecting food production in Qatar.

Measures to enhance production efficiency and resource use will be proposed, including the development of drought-resistant crops. The project will leverage successful experiments in South Korea and conduct workshops for capacity-building and recommending suitable solutions.

The collaboration seeks to address agricultural challenges, climate change, and limited natural resources in Qatar through modern techniques.
