Man arrested for gambling activities

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has arrested a person of Asian nationality for engaging in gambling activities in one of the labour-inhabited areas.

In a series of tweet, the MoI said, “The Criminal Investigation Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation was able to arrest a person of Asian nationality for engaging in gambling in one of the labor pool areas.”

The arrest was made after a video clip showing a person gambling went viral on social media.

“After collecting the necessary data and verifying the authenticity of the video clip, the accused was arrested,” the MoI said, adding that the accused confessed to the crime.

Accordingly, seizures were made and the accused was referred to the judicial authorities to take the legal procedures in this regard.

The Criminal Investigation Department has called upon everyone to cooperate with the security agencies to report any person suspected of such practices.
