The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) announced that national dialogues will be held on August 8 and 9 to discuss ways to develop food systems in the State of Qatar.

Director of the Food Security Department at MME and National Coordinator of the United Nations Food Systems Summit 2021 Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri said at the conclusion of the State of Qatar's participation in the preparatory summit for the United Nations Food Systems Summit, which was held in the Italian capital, Rome, that the State of Qatar, represented by the MME, is conducting the final arrangements to hold the internal national dialogues on August 8 and 9, which will include holding dialogue sessions to discuss a number of issues related to the development of food systems in Qatar.

Al Marri Pointed out that these national dialogues come as a prelude to fulfilling the requirements for Qatar's participation in this UN conference scheduled for next September.

Al Marri explained that the dialogue sessions will be attended by government and private agencies, consumers, traders, scientists and researchers, as direct discussions will take place among them regarding the development of food systems and the challenges facing food systems at all stages.

The United Nations Food Systems Summit will be held at the end of next September at the level of state leaders and chaired by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, as the summit is the first of its kind and aims to make progress in all 17 sustainable development goals by 2030.
