Katara to Launch Third Round of European Language Activities

The Cultural Village Foundation(Katara) has announced the launch of the 3rd round of European Language Activities

The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced the launch of the third round of European Language Activities, in collaboration between Katara's Public Diplomacy Centre (KPDC) and both embassies of the European Union (EU) and European countries accredited to the country.

This came during the press conference held Tuesday, in the presence of the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) and President of Global Public Diplomacy Network Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, and CEO of the Katara Centre for Public Diplomacy and Secretary General of the International Public Diplomacy Network, Maryam Al Saad.

It was also attended by HE the EU Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Dr. Christian Tudor, HE Spain's Ambassador to Qatar, Javier Carbajosa, HE Romania's Ambassador to Qatar, Daniel Tanase, HE Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Qatar, Iulian Grigorita, and Head of the Department of Culture, Commercial Affairs, and Press at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany to the State Of Qatar.

Katara's General Manager and President of Global Public Diplomacy Network, Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, said during his speech delivered at Tuesday's press conference that the two European Language Activities rounds launched in collaboration between KPDC, EU, and the embassies of the EU Member States, were successful and resonated well with the public.

This latter expressed its appreciation of the organization of such wonderful events in Katara and clarified that these activities opened doors of exploration into new cultures of the civilizations of the European peoples and their heritage.

For their part, Their Excellencies ambassadors and diplomats participating in the press conference expressed their happiness with the success achieved by the European language activities through its previous two rounds, valuing the existing cooperation between their embassies and the Katara Center for Public Diplomacy.

They pointed out that the European language activities, which included a range of cultural and linguistic activities, contributed to the effective promotion of European languages, as a tool for enhancing cultural diplomacy and a gateway to achieving common understanding.

This contributes to strengthening friendship and communication between Qatari culture and the cultures of European countries, and to introduce the public to European cultures and their rich history as well their cultural heritage.
