Damascus, September 13, 2026 : Israeli forces made a fresh incursion into the outskirts of Beit Jinn in the western Damascus countryside on Sunday, deploying military vehicles and setting up a checkpoint to search farmers and passersby, according to local sources.
Vehicles Enter Through Southern Entrance
Israeli vehicles entered through the southern entrance of the town, near the Bab Al-Sadd area, where personnel searched farmers and pedestrians. There were no immediate reports of arrests.
Infantry Enters Jurat Al-Louz, Shelling Reported
An Israeli infantry force also entered the Jurat Al-Louz area on the western outskirts of the town, while four artillery shells fired by Israeli forces landed around Beit Jinn, according to the sources.
Incursions Also Reported in Quneitra, Daraa
The developments followed Israeli incursions earlier Sunday into several areas of the Quneitra and Daraa countrysides, accompanied by intensive surveillance aircraft activity and gunfire directed at residential areas in the village of Maariya in the Yarmouk Basin.
Part of Pattern of Incursions in Southern Syria
The latest moves form part of a pattern of repeated Israeli incursions into southern Syria, which Damascus says violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. Syria has repeatedly called on the international community to act to halt the incursions and compel Israel to fully withdraw from Syrian territory.
