HIA and Qatar Duty Free host Ramadan festivities

Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Qatar Duty Free (QDF) organize a number of Ramadan celebrations and events as part of their commitment to exhibiting the rich culture and traditions of the State of Qatar and the Middle East.

Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Chief Operating Officer at HIA said: “Hamad International Airport strives to showcase the rich culture and traditions of the State of Qatar and the Middle East. Our commitment to creating memorable experiences for our passengers is reflected in bringing the spirit and essence of Ramadan to passengers. As the gateway to Qatar and the region, Hamad International Airport remains dedicated to create unique and innovative experiences for all visitors.”

Hamad International Airport and Qatar Duty Free create a traditional environment with Ramadan tents close to the Fendi and Ralph's cafés embellishing the Orchard to convey the spirit of Ramadan across the airport. Passengers are provided with Arabic coffee and dates at booths spread out throughout the airport during Iftar.

Children dress in traditional attire, sing the Garangao song, and get treats and nuts to commemorate the Garangao, a significant celebration in the Gulf region that occurs on the 14th day of Ramadan. This celebration will be held close to the Lamp Bear for travelers arriving from the airport, and it will feature a customary children's performance and freebies for the little ones.

With ornate Ramadan lanterns, a 360-degree picture booth, and Arabic seating spaces, Orchard will fully embrace the holy month as a destination for travelers from around the world to unwind and relax. QDF will introduce a variety of Ramadan promotions to passengers flying through HIA, including oud fragrances from well-known beauty brands and upscale Arabic candies, chocolates, and dates.
