Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has received the largest batch of graduate students since its establishment in 2010. This academic year, the number of students enrolled reached 349 male and female students from geographically diverse backgrounds, including the State of Qatar, the Middle East and North Africa, and other countries.

The list of students enrolled in the university's six faculties included 63 international students and 187 residents, 97 of which were Qatari students, making up nearly 30 percent of the new batch. This is a 50 percent increase from the numbers of last year.

On this occasion, HBKU's Provost Dr. Michael Benedik expressed his pride in receiving the largest batch of students in HBKU's history to date, highlighting the university's great progress in a relatively short period.

The university is proud to have high-ranking faculty members, and world-class facilities that match those of the best universities in the world, he said. As students come to HBKU to realize their ambitions and aspirations, they are also aware of the exceptional opportunities that the university can offer them to become leaders in their chosen fields, contribute through their research to the advancement of Qatar's national priorities, and the university's remarkable reputation for innovation and excellence, he added.

Throughout its history, HBKU has demonstrated its commitment to the State of Qatar and its research system, as it is keen to qualify its students to play an active role in building their knowledge-based economy. The university employs a distinguished set of academic and non-academic means compatible with international standards to achieve its goal of building local capabilities and supporting leaders who are motivated to innovate and lead.

The university offers 35 multidisciplinary graduate programs and one university program, all of which comply with international standards. It is keen to develop them to address specific and wide-ranging challenges facing the State of Qatar and the world. The university also operates three national research institutes specialized in the fields of sustainability, precision medicine, computing, and environmental and energy research.
