The Single Window initiative is part of Qatar's endeavor to attract local and foreign investments and enhance its position as an ideal destination for investment in the region and the world. This national initiative aims at facilitating the procedures of starting a business in the country and directing investments to the priority sectors identified in the National Development Strategy 2018-2022 This is done in a way that achieves the national vision to transform Qatar by 2030 into an advanced society capable of achieving sustainable development and securing a high standard of living for its people for generations to come.

Foreign investors registered more than 800 companies in Qatar last year using the country's Single Window System, an online platform that connects various government processes to make the registration and establishment of businesses in the country easier.

Mohamad Hamad Al Nuaimi, Director of Single Window at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), told news sources on the sidelines of an event to announce a new Single Window service yesterday that the platform's goal of attracting foreign investors to Qatar is now bearing fruit.

"By 2021, we will have 800 companies registered in the Single Window by international investors." It's a higher number than we've seen before, and we're hoping for even more in 2022," Mohamad Hamad Al Nuaimi said.

“Last year, the Single Window has conducted over 26,000 transactions. We have just launched a new service, the issuance of electronic establishment cards. And in the future, we are going to produce more applications including any modification in the commercial registration or the trading license. It will also be shown in the Single Window System,” Al Nuaimi added.

Qatar’s Single Window System is currently in the middle of digital transformation, Al Nuaimi has previously said. The platform is working towards the full adoption of paperless transactions and streamlining of all its services to further improve the process of establishing a business in Qatar.
