Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev warned Monday that the International Criminal Court's decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin would have horrible consequences for international law.

"No one will go to any international organization anymore, everyone will negotiate among themselves. All the stupid decisions of the UN and other bodies will burst at the seams. The dreary downfall of the entire system of international relations is coming," he added in a statement cited by Sputnik news agency.

The ICC had issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian official Maria Lvova-Belova for an alleged scheme to deport Ukrainian children to Russia.

Moscow rejects the charge, labeling the ICCs actions as "outrageous and unacceptable." "We consider the very posing of the question outrageous and unacceptable. Russia, like a number of states, does not recognize the jurisdiction of this court and, accordingly, any decisions of this kind are null and void for the Russian Federation from the point of view of law," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
