Awqaf Ministry to host Islamic scholars for Ramadan programme

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced its hosting of distinguished Islamic scholars from Qatar and abroad to engage in discussions on crucial matters concerning the Islamic world.

The 10th Ramadan Program, titled "Aminhum Min Khawf" (Protect Them from Fear), commences today at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque. This event will consist of open sessions, each dedicated to addressing various issues pertinent to the Islamic world, its comprehensive cultural security, and the encountered challenges. The five-day program will run until March 21.

In the inaugural session focusing on "the objectives of Islamic law and the reality of Muslims," esteemed figures such as Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Ansari, Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Qatar University, Dr. Issam Al Bashir, Vice-President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Bilal Baroudi, Sheikh of the Recitation of Tripoli, and Dr. Nour Al Din Al Khadimi, Professor of Jurisprudence at Qatar University, will participate.

This program aims to host a select group of scholars and intellectuals, both local and international, to deliberate on critical issues facing the Islamic nation across nine sessions. Discussions will revolve around adopting a moderate approach and fostering an original vision, analyzing the current state of the Muslim world, its transformations, challenges, and strategies for reform and renewal.

Since its establishment, the program has successfully convened approximately 130 eminent Muslim scholars and thinkers from around the globe. They have shared their insights and perspectives on tackling contemporary challenges that jeopardize the spiritual, intellectual, and social security of the Islamic world.

Initiated in 2014, the program has evolved into a significant annual event.
