Al Anaam Expands Across Qatar With 16 New Branches as H1 Sales Rise 30%

Al Anaam

Al Anaam Factory for Animal Production has reported strong growth in Qatar during the first half of 2026, recording a 30% year-on-year increase in total sales while significantly expanding its retail network across the country.

The company, part of Wathnan Holding Group, opened 16 new branches under its “Lohud Al Anaam” brand during the first six months of 2026, strengthening its presence in Qatar’s livestock and meat market.

The expansion forms part of a wider strategy focused on increasing market share, improving accessibility for customers and expanding Al Anaam’s product and distribution network.

Monthly Livestock Supply Reaches 10,000 Head

According to Shamlan Alavadhi, Executive Manager of Wathnan Holding Group, Al Anaam currently supplies the Qatari market with approximately 10,000 head of live and chilled livestock every month.

The company also maintains a sheep inventory of around 20,000 head, allowing it to offer consumers a broad selection of livestock and meat products.

Its livestock portfolio includes several breeds of sheep as well as Brazilian and Somali calves, supporting the company’s strategy of diversifying its products and sourcing channels.

Branch Network Set to Reach 28 Locations

Al Anaam plans to continue its rapid retail expansion during the second half of the year.

The company is targeting five additional branches before the end of 2026, which would bring the number of outlets opened during the year to 21.

Together with seven branches launched in 2025, Al Anaam expects its branch network to reach 28 locations, excluding other retail outlets operated by Wathnan Holding Group, including Masskar Hypermarket.

The expansion strategy is designed to bring products closer to residential communities while improving distribution efficiency and increasing sales from individual branches.

Mobile App Generates 20% of Total Sales

Digital sales are also becoming an increasingly important part of Al Anaam’s business.

The company’s mobile application now accounts for around 20% of total sales, reflecting growing customer demand for online ordering and home delivery.

Through the app, customers can purchase meat and other products and have them delivered using Al Anaam’s distribution fleet.

The company said it intends to continue developing its digital channels alongside its physical branch expansion as consumer purchasing habits continue to evolve.

Camel Sales Approach 3,000 in Eight Months

Al Anaam has also recorded significant growth in its camel business.

Nearly 3,000 camels were sold between the beginning of 2026 and August, reflecting renewed consumer interest in the segment.

The company has been working to increase the availability of camel products through consumer cooperatives and other sales channels, helping expand the category’s presence in the local market.

Supporting Qatar’s Food Security

Beyond its commercial expansion, Al Anaam says its operations contribute to Qatar’s broader food-security objectives

Its activities cover several parts of the livestock value chain, including locally raised animals, livestock fattening, live animal supply and chilled meat.

Increasing inventory levels and maintaining multiple sourcing channels can help strengthen the resilience of Qatar’s food supply, particularly during periods of international supply-chain disruption.

The company also emphasises compliance with veterinary and health requirements as part of efforts to maintain product safety and quality.

Continued Expansion in Qatar

With sales climbing 30%, digital channels accounting for a growing share of revenue and its physical branch network expanding rapidly, Al Anaam is positioning itself for further growth in Qatar’s livestock and meat sector.

The company’s planned five additional openings during the remainder of 2026 will further extend its consumer reach while supporting its goal of strengthening local supply and contributing to Qatar’s efforts to increase food security and self-sufficiency.
