A huge public turnout continues in keeping pace with an array of cultural events held on the sidelines of the 3rd edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF-2023), organized by the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara under the generous patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The auction will start on Monday, with the stable opening from 9 am until 12 pm, to be followed by horse inspection from noon until 3 pm, with bid distribution and insurance deposits paid to start from 3 pm, and the auction beginning at 5:30 pm.

The festival's last two editions were a success, setting a milestone in the world of horse auctions, having witnessed the highest selling price for the mare's egg FT Sheila, amounting to more than QR 3 million, in addition to the valuables and paintings auction.

The Katara auction for qualified purebred Arabian horses aims to provide an opportunity for interested owners, breeders and fans to acquire the best of horses, especially since the auction's horses are of the finest types, and have previously won in international and regional championships. During the auction, those interested will be able to own the best purebred Arabian horse breeds globally, before participating in KIAHF-2023.

The auction also serves as an opportunity for horse owners to put them for sale, thus enabling buyers to upgrade their stables and farms with superior show horses, able to compete in championships, or to support their own production of the purebred Arabian breed, as these goals fall within the endeavor of the State of Qatar to preserve and perpetuate the Arabian breed.

Katara was keen on launching the 3rd edition of this festival to revive the glorious history of its ancient culture and traditions, enriching the real heritage of Qatari equestrian sport.

The third edition of this festival is receiving great international interest and attention, as the number of countries participating reached 18, competing fiercely with the best and finest authentic horse breeds transported from around the world, in the participation of 40 referees for the two horse beauty championships.
