WhatsApp to Increase Pinned Messages to Four

Washington, September 6, 2026 : WhatsApp is testing an update that will allow users to pin up to four messages in individual and group chats on Android, increasing the current limit of three.

The messaging platform has begun testing the feature with a select group of Android beta users ahead of a broader rollout.

Under the new feature, users attempting to pin another message after reaching the current three-message limit will be given the option to add a fourth pinned message. This removes the need to unpin one of the existing messages before adding new content.

The update is intended to give users greater flexibility in keeping important information easily accessible at the top of conversations. It could be particularly useful in busy group chats where multiple messages, announcements, or pieces of information may need to remain readily available.

WhatsApp will also allow users to choose how long a message remains pinned, giving them greater control over the visibility of pinned content.

The feature is currently being rolled out gradually to Android beta testers, with availability expected to expand to more users in a future update.
