UAE Ministry of Education Trains Over 24,000 Educators Ahead of 2026–27 Academic Year

More than 24,000 school leaders, teachers, advisers and support staff across the UAE are taking part in a major professional-development programme as the Ministry of Education prepares for the 2026–27 academic year.

The Ministry’s Specialised Training Week will run from August 24 to 28, featuring more than 80 targeted programmes and workshops delivered through a hybrid model combining in-person and remote sessions.

AI and Future-Ready Teaching in Focus

The training programme places strong emphasis on integrating artificial intelligence into education, while also covering inclusive teaching, academic and professional mentoring, data-driven assessment, gifted-student development, school safety, learning sciences, institutional excellence, leadership and innovation.

More Than 80 Programmes and Workshops

The five-day initiative is designed to connect professional development with the practical needs of schools. Applied training, interactive laboratories, peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and real-world case studies are intended to help participants translate new skills directly into classroom and school operations.

Dedicated Pathway for 1,700 School Leaders

A specialised training pathway has been created for 1,700 school leaders, including 500 principals and 1,200 vice principals. Among the key offerings is a Leadership Competencies Lab focused on data-driven decision-making, practical applications of artificial intelligence and strengthening school culture around national identity and Emirati values.

Sarah Al Amiri Highlights Continuous Development

Minister of Education Sarah Al Amiri said continuous professional development is central to modernising the UAE education system. The initiative is intended to empower educators, encourage institutional innovation and support sustainable, high-quality academic environments.

Training Designed to Improve Student Outcomes

The Ministry said the programme has been mapped to educators’ practical needs, with a focus on ensuring that professional learning contributes to stronger school performance and improved student outcomes from the beginning of the academic year.

The nationwide training drive reflects the UAE’s broader investment in human capital and its efforts to build a resilient and competitive education system capable of adapting to technological change and evolving learning needs.
