Bangkok, September 28, 2026 : Eight people have been killed in floods that have swept across Thailand since September 16, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) said on Sunday.
The authorities said 28 provinces, including Bangkok, are still affected, particularly in the central, northern, eastern, and northeastern regions.
According to the DDPM, floods hit 42 provinces between September 16 and 28, affecting approximately 1.8 million people.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt declared the entire capital a flood-affected area after about 48 hours of continuous heavy rain left large areas under water and disrupted traffic.
The Thai Meteorological Department said heavy rainfall in Bangkok and surrounding areas eased today.
