FIFA Arab Cup 2021 Qatar

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirmed that schools and universities in Qatar will continue functioning at 100% capacity, as scheduled, during the upcoming The FIFA Arab Cupâ„¢.

Schools and universities in Qatar will function as usual during the FIFA Arab Cup 2021, which is set to be held in the country between November 30 and December 18, 2021.

The education minister on Sunday tweeted that the set schedules at the schools and universities shall remain unchanged during the Arab Cup.

"The Ministry of Education and Higher Education affirms that operations at schools and universities shall continue unchanged as per the set schedules at a full rate of 100% during the Arab Cup," the Ministry said on Twitter.

The clarification comes from the Ministry amid speculation that schools would stay closed during the tournament. With several schools set to break for Christmas halfway through December, there were talks of an extended vacation kicking off with the Arab Cup.

Road Closures

There will be a number of temporary road closures along the Corniche during the tournament, as per an earlier announcement of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.

Between November 26 and December 4, the Corniche Street will be closed in both directions.

This is to allow a number of fan activities to take place in the area, including the 11th edition of the Qatar International Food Festival.

Participating Teams

The FIFA Arab Cup™ sees 16 teams from across the Arab world come together to compete. These include Qatar, the UAE, Algeria and Lebanon, among others.
