Jeddah: Saudi Arabia's national carrier, Saudia, has ranked first globally for on-time flight arrivals in July, achieving a punctuality rate of 87.24 percent across 16,406 flights.

The ranking, published in the latest monthly report by aviation analytics platform Cirium, marks the third consecutive time Saudia has led the global airline punctuality rankings in 2026, following first-place finishes in May and June.

The result is particularly notable as it was achieved during the busy summer holiday season, reflecting the carrier's ability to maintain operational efficiency and reliability despite the higher flight volumes and added complexity of peak travel periods.

Saudia's July figure came in nearly four percentage points above the global category average of 83.55 percent, which covered 226,223 flights. The airline finished ahead of Singapore Airlines, which ranked second with 85.32 percent across 10,554 flights, followed by Air India at 84.33 percent, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) at 84.32 percent, and Aeromexico at 83.96 percent.

The July on-time arrival rate represented a decline from the 92.38 percent Saudia recorded in June, when it also topped the rankings, reflecting the tougher operating environment during one of the busiest periods of the international travel calendar. The carrier's scheduled operations also recorded an on-time departure rate of 88.58 percent for the month.

The airline attributed its performance to an integrated operational approach drawing on the expertise of national talent, coordination across Saudia Group companies, and close collaboration with aviation partners and government entities at airports, supported by advanced digital systems and AI-powered solutions used in operational planning and decision-making.

Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, said, “Consistency at this level is only possible when every team across the organization is working toward the same goal. It reflects the capability of our national workforce and our continued investment in the technologies that strengthen our operations every day.”

He added, “Ranking first globally for the third time this year is an achievement we are proud of, but our focus extends beyond rankings. Our priority is to deliver a reliable travel experience every day for our guests while continuing to contribute to the objectives of the Saudi Aviation Strategy.”
