Wellington, September 20, 2026 : Rocket Lab, a global specialist in space launch services and systems, has launched a new Earth observation satellite for Japan's Synspective, as part of a mission carried out by an Electron rocket from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand.

12th StriX Satellite Deployed to Orbit

The company said the rocket successfully placed the 12th StriX satellite into the Japanese Earth observation company's constellation, positioning it in low Earth orbit at an altitude of 572 kilometers.

Mission Marks Milestone for Electron Rocket

Rocket Lab said the mission, named "Owl By The Dozen," represents the 96th flight of an Electron rocket and the company's 17th launch of the year.

Satellite to Support Urban Planning, Disaster Response

The satellite uses synthetic aperture radar technology as part of a constellation that provides data supporting urban development planning, construction and infrastructure monitoring, and disaster response.

15 More Missions Planned Through 2030

Rocket Lab is scheduled to carry out 15 additional missions dedicated to Synspective through 2030, completing the deployment of its satellite constellation.
