Over the past ten years, Qatar has witnessed unprecedented growth and development under the visionary leadership of King Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. As the eighth Amir of Qatar, King Sheikh Tamim has steered the nation towards remarkable progress, transforming it into a dynamic global player on various fronts.

Qatar has collaborated with entities like the International Labour Organization, passing new Labour Laws and ensuring adherence to international standards.

Under Sheikh Tamim's leadership, Qatar has implemented significant labor law reforms aimed at protecting the rights of migrant workers. These reforms include the removal of the requirement for exit permits for a major population of the workforce coupled with the ending of the requirement for migrant workers to obtain their employer’s permission to change jobs, effectively dismantling the kafala sponsorship system. This change has granted workers greater freedom and autonomy over their employment and marked the beginning of a new era for the Qatari labour market. 

Furthermore, the Amir has implemented various systems in place under Wage Protection, and Administrative Development, working actively towards increased transparency with workers' welfare initiatives.

As a result the country handled the pandemic in the best way possible, and residents were provided the best of healthcare facilities.
