QatarEnergy suspended Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production in March 2026 and is now reviving plans to restart it following military attacks waged against plants.

QatarEnergy has revved up two units of three trains at QELNG North 1 (Qatargas-1), according to the report.

QELNG North 1 is Qatar's first LNG project, located on Ras Laffan Industrial City, it also added. The step consists of 3 traditional liquefaction trains, with a combined annual output capacity of approximately 10 million tons each year (mtpa) of LNG.

The report also noted that full production could be resumed only if ships were able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, after Iran’s navy warned vessels navigating the strait without authorization from Tehran, as various shipping sources said access to the waterway remained closed.
