Qatar swimming champion Nada Mohamed Wafa has been elected Chairperson of the Athletes Committee of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) during the Association’s General Assembly meeting in Taif, Saudi Arabia. Representatives from ISSA member countries attended the meeting.
Nada Mohamed Wafa Takes Leadership Role
Wafa’s election reflects her achievements in swimming and her extensive experience in regional and international competitions.
As Chairperson, she will lead the Athletes Committee, which is responsible for representing athletes and encouraging their participation in the Association’s activities and sporting events.
Election Strengthens Qatar’s Presence in International Sports
The appointment highlights the international confidence in Qatari sporting talent and further strengthens Qatar’s presence within regional and international sports organisations.
It also underlines Qatar’s continued contribution to sports development and its efforts to support athletes and enhance their participation in major sporting events.
Nada Mohamed Wafa’s International Sporting Career
Nada Mohamed Wafa is one of Qatar’s prominent sporting figures and has represented the country in numerous regional and international competitions.
Among the highlights of her career are her participation in the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in South Korea.
Her new role with ISSA adds another milestone to her sporting career while giving her an opportunity to represent athletes and contribute to the development of sports within the Association.
