Over 4.5 million Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced an update on the country's National Covid-19 Vaccination Program.

In an infographic shared on Twitter, the Ministry stated that total number of vaccine doses administered to date is 4,515,730.

95% of the eligible population (12 years and over) have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. While 88.1% of the eligible population have received two doses of the vaccine. 

Furthermore, 82.5% of the total population have now received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and 76.4% of the total population have received two vaccine doses. 

In the same announcement, MoPH also said: "If you are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine but have not yet booked your appointment, act now; get vaccinated to protect yourself and your family, and support the return to normal life as soon as possible."

Qatar ranked second globally in vaccine coverage

Qatar is among the world's top performing countries for vaccination coverage of its population, according to Our World in Data vaccination tracker, which keeps track of the vaccination coverage of all countries on a daily basis.

Qatar is ranked second in the world for the percentage of population that have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, among countries with a population of more than one million. It is ranked fifth in for the percentage of population that are fully vaccinated, among countries with a population of more than one million.

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) on Sunday said Qatar’s vaccination programme has achieved a major milestone, with 95 percent of the eligible population (12 years and above) receiving at least one dose of the vaccine.

According to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), a total of 4,515,730 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered till date.

As many as 11,173 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.

With this, the MoPH said, 88.1 percent of the eligible population have received both the doses of the vaccine.

“76.4 percent of the total population have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 82.5 percent of the total population have received at least one dose of the vaccine,” the MoPH said.

“If you are eligible for the COVID-1 9 vaccine but have not yet booked your appointment, act now. Get vaccinated to protect yourself and your family, and support the return to normal life as soon as possible,” the MoPH added.
