The State of Qatar took part in the joint ministerial meeting of the GCC-Canada Strategic Dialogue held in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. Qatar's delegation was led by the HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi. The meeting highlighted the importance of deepening ties among GCC members and Canada, and exploring viable opportunities through which collaboration in vital sectors can be expanded.
Key Areas of Discussion

Strengthening Economic and Trade Relations between Gulf Countries and Canada.

Cooperating on common agenda items.

Discussing and examining regional and international provocative incidents affecting regional security and stability.

Stress the need to bolster international action, safeguard maritime lanes and guarantee freedom of navigation.

Supporting the measures that would protect common interest, and Regional and Global stability.

The meeting also discussed the latest security developments in the region, such as attacks against a number of countries. Participants:

Held talks on Iranian attacks against several regional countries.

Denounced the latest attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain, State of Kuwait and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Reiterated the importance of ensuring regional peace and stability through cooperation and dialogue.

At the same time, the discussions highlighted GCC-implications on working with a variety of international partners, including Canada, to resolve local disputes and synergize economic & security coordination.
