Education Ministry updates assessment policy for Grades 1–11
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced new directives for student assessments across government and private schools, introducing adjustments for the second semester in light of current developments.
For Grades 1 and 2, the Ministry confirmed that continuous assessment grades in each subject will be counted in place of midterm examinations. This measure ensures evaluation continuity while reducing the need for formal testing at the lower levels.
For Grades 3 to 11, schools are instructed to prepare one electronic assessment per subject, each carrying 30 marks. Government schools will assign these assessments via the Qatar Education System, while private schools implementing national standards will use their approved e‑learning platforms. The assignment period is set for 14–16 April 2026, with the final deadline for completion on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
Teachers are required to mark the electronic assessments and record grades in the NSIS system, including oral or practical components where applicable. Clear instructions must be provided to students to ensure smooth completion of the assessments.
The Ministry emphasized that these measures are designed to safeguard the educational process while maintaining fairness and consistency across all levels. It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting schools, teachers, and students and to providing updates through official channels.
