Qatar Education Ministry Honors 56 Outstanding Evening Center Graduates

Doha, September 14, 2026 : The Ministry of Education and Higher Education honored 56 outstanding graduates from evening education centers for the 2025/2026 academic year during a ceremony held to mark International Literacy Day.

The ceremony was organized in cooperation with the Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex and attended by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi.

The Ministry highlighted the important role of evening education centers in expanding access to education and promoting equal educational opportunities. It said the centers reflect Qatar’s commitment to lifelong learning and contribute to developing human capital and supporting the country’s sustainable development efforts.

A total of 759 students graduated from evening education centers nationwide during the 2025/2026 academic year. The graduates included 402 males, representing around 53 percent, and 357 females, accounting for approximately 47 percent.

The Ministry said the figures demonstrate the graduates’ determination to complete their education and achieve their academic ambitions despite the challenges and circumstances they faced.

Approximately 1,620 students of different nationalities were enrolled in evening education centers during the same academic year. Qatari students accounted for 48.5 percent of enrollment, while non-Qatari students represented 51.5 percent, reflecting the diversity of the communities served by the centers and their commitment to providing inclusive educational opportunities.

During the ceremony, Assistant Director of the Department of School and Student Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Fatima Yousuf Al Obaidli said earning a high school diploma should be viewed not as the end of an educational journey, but as the beginning of a new stage of learning, achievement, and personal development.

She encouraged graduates to continue pursuing their education and make use of the knowledge, experience, and skills they had gained to shape their futures and contribute to their communities and country.

Al Obaidli also highlighted the role of the Continuing Education Department in supporting individuals whose circumstances prevented them from completing their education through the formal education system. The department provides learning opportunities that enable students to develop their skills and pursue further educational, professional, and community opportunities, in line with Qatar’s focus on human development and investment in people.

The ceremony also featured a short film documenting the challenges students encountered throughout their educational journeys and the efforts they made to overcome them and graduate. The film highlighted how evening centers provide flexible learning opportunities that allow students to balance education with other responsibilities while working toward their academic and professional goals.

The Continuing Education Department, which operates under the School and Student Affairs Department within the Education Affairs Sector, oversees nine evening education centers across Qatar. These include four centers for male students and five for female students, offering flexible educational options designed to meet the needs of different segments of society and expand opportunities for continuing education.
