The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar issued a strong condemnation on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, against the Iranian missile and drone attacks that struck civilian facilities in both Kuwait and Bahrain, including the assault on Kuwait International Airport which caused injuries and extensive damage to infrastructure.
In its statement, the Ministry described the strikes as a grave violation of sovereignty and a direct breach of international law. Officials stressed that the attacks contravened the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, particularly the principle of distinction, which prohibits targeting civilians and civilian installations during armed conflicts. The Ministry further emphasized that indiscriminate attacks of this nature undermine the foundations of international humanitarian law and pose serious risks to regional stability.
Qatar reiterated its complete rejection of targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure, warning that such actions escalate tensions and expose the region to dangerous consequences. The statement called for urgent efforts to deāescalate hostilities and restore conditions that safeguard both regional and global security.
The Ministry also underscored Qatarās solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain, affirming support for all measures taken by the two states to protect their sovereignty and ensure the safety of their citizens. In addition, Qatar extended its wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks and prayed for the protection of both nations from further harm.
The declaration reflects Qatarās consistent diplomatic stance of rejecting aggression, defending international law, and promoting stability across the Gulf region.
